What makes Choices unique?
Choices Academy is a public, alternative school which caters to students from grades 4-12. In order to be considered to sent to our school, a student typically must have at least 10 suspension days and the home school must prove that they have documented their efforts to help this student succeed and their efforts have not worked. However, Choices Academy also has students which may volunteer to attend our school. Overall, Choices Academy teaches a select number of students that are not being successful in the traditional school setting. Our student population is very transient as a result. The average enrollment population is about 175 students enrolled at Choices Academy per school year. Our students usually spend about a semester with us prior to returning to their home school. This time period can be shorter or longer depending on the student and the circumstances that brought them to Choices Academy. We have new students which start at our school every week throughout the school year!

Overview & Accomplishments
Overview |
Over the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school years, Choices Academy has worked to fulfill the requirements which are necessary to achieve becoming a Maryland Green School. If Choices Academy is designated as a Green School, our faculty and students will continue to make changes for our school and in our community. We will plant, tend and harvest the food that we will grow in the Choices Academy Community Garden. We will continue to go forward with new initiatives that bring awareness of environmental issues and implement ideas to bring changes to our school and community.
